Chinese Comfort Food at its finest! Congee. Roast duck. Bok Choy. A simple lunch with so much flavor. I am fond of eating roast duck in Chinese restaurants. When it’s well made, it’s superb - lIke here. Kee and I met to go to her favorite spot in Chinatown where she is a regular customer. Everyone knows her. She knew how much I like duck and ordered a plate of half a duck. The rich aroma perfumed its way to our table. The crisp skin glistened. A first bite and my heart sang with joy. A large bowl of congee with fish was Kee’s order along with the traditional long pastry that resembled a churro. Bok choy and rice accompanied this lunch. We both ate heartily and yet there was enough to take home. Several customers were enjoying their meals. Service was fine. The restroom on the ground floor is ideal. The stairs to the ones downstairs have fabric covering them that are not fitted well and it feels uneasy. Plus the restrooms are narrow so it’s uncomfortable and would be difficult for a corpulent person. Highly recommended.

I actually found out about this spot because Tasty Hand Pulled Noodles told me about it. I always go to Tasty for duck noodles. The waitress at Tasty told me that this spot is where they buy the aforementioned duck. So I went to check it out. It did not disappoint. The spring rolls were crispy. The duck was tasty. The buns were steamed perfectly. The vegetables were classic stir fried fare with a delicate sauce. The whole menu is very reasonably priced. Service is friendly and prompt. What more can one ask for?

I had the best roasted duck in here. It was so flavorful and delicious. My friend brought me and it was on his treat, so I don't know how much it costs. If you pay in cash, it can be cheaper than pay with card. We didn't wait for too long as we went there on a weekday. They also offered free Chinese tea and you can also ask for water too. I want to come back here and try different menus.

Lovely restaurant. I came here specifically for the Singapore chow mei fun because the internet said it was a good place for it in Chinatown and it did not disappoint! So many places make it terribly but it was perfect here :) The staff were nice, was greeting and offered tea immediately too. Definitely recommend this place.

Great Chinese BBQ place with traditional Cantonese eats. Haven't had a salt cured fish and chicken fried rice as good in over a decade. Must try!!

Welcome to Ming Wong, a gem nestled in the heart of Chinatown, New York. Located at 61 Mott St, this cozy eatery is famed for its authentic Chinese comfort food that warms the heart and satisfies the palate. The vibrant atmosphere and the delightful aroma wafting through the air greet you as you step inside, creating an immediately inviting experience.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the roast duck. Many reviewers rave about its flavorful profile, crisp skin, and juicy meat. Customer Sabena Singh captured the essence perfectly: "When it’s well made, it’s superb - like here." The satisfying crunch of the skin gives way to rich, succulent meat that leaves diners in pure bliss. It is paired exquisitely with a bowl of congee or a selection of fresh bok choy, making for a truly comforting meal.

Ming Wong doesn’t stop at just the duck. Diners have praised the crispy spring rolls, which are a crunchy delight, along with perfectly steamed buns that complement the diverse menu. Vegetarian options, such as classic stir-fried vegetables, are prepared with a delicate sauce ensuring that every dish balances flavor without overwhelming the palate. James Amster can testify to the quality, saying, "What more can one ask for?"

The generous portion sizes, combined with reasonable prices, create a dining experience that invites customers to indulge without the guilt—a sentiment echoed by Aung Myo Htut. He was particularly impressed with the efficiency of service and appreciated the complimentary Chinese tea that adds a touch of warmth to the meal.

However, it’s worth noting that some guests, like Kate H, have remarked on the consistency of the portion of meat on the roast duck. While the flavor is consistently exceptional, a bit more meat could elevate the dish even further. This feedback highlights Ming Wong’s commitment to customer satisfaction—an area of potential growth.

Comfortable seating and clean facilities add to the welcoming vibe of Ming Wong. Though the restrooms have drawn some critique for their accessibility, the overall service remains friendly and prompt, ensuring that the dining experience flows seamlessly.

In conclusion, Ming Wong is a must-visit destination for those seeking authentic Chinese cuisine in New York. With its warm atmosphere, delightful dishes, and reasonable prices, this restaurant embodies the essence of Chinese comfort food. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Ming Wong is sure to leave you with a lasting impression and a longing to return.
